We decided to rebuild the CA18DET engine using forged pistons and rods for maximum strenght and reliablity. We raised the compression ratio from 8.5:1 to 9:1 for better response and efficiеncy. The common CA18DET headgasket problem was solved with the help of Athena and ARP. For rod and main bearings we used ACL Race.
